DANIMARCA 1863 - 20 December 1863, single rate letter from Copenhagen to Rome, with 2 sk. blau, 4 sk. brown and a pair of 16 sk. rosa lilla (Facit 3,9,10), prepaid 38 rbsk to the Papal border. The letter, insufficiently prepaid to be carried to destination via France as required by the endorsement, was carried via GAPU prepaid to the Italian-Papal border. 9 rbsk Danish inland, 29 rbsk foreign share that corresponded to the 6 3/4 sgr credited to GAPU: 3 sgr GAPU transit, 2 sgr Swiss transit and 1 3/4 sgr Italian transit. The cover bears the "P.D." corrected in "P.P.", the notation of the 6 3/4 sgr credited by the Danish Post Office of Hamburg and the indication of the 5 bajocchi charged on delivery. On the reverse the transit datestamps of the Danish Post Office of Hamburg, of the Travelling Post Office on the boat carrying mail on the Luzern Lake, of the Travelling Post office on the boat carrying mail on the Maggiore lake from Switzerland to Italy, of Leghorn and the delivery datestamp of Rome struck on 29 December 1863.
